SYRIA
Who is behind the murders?

December 2005:
Conspiracy or murder?
Who is really behind the murders of prominent Lebanese politicians and
journalist such as ex-prime minister Mr Harriri and others? Is this really a simple case
of a straightforward murder investigation or is this a much more complex case of a vast
conspiracy and frame-up?
If a man gets robbed and murdered for 200 dollars in his wallet should the police
look for the mugger and forget about the recipient of the victim's 2 million dollar
insurance policy? In most of such cases the robbery is very professional, meticulously
planned and prepared and the robber cannot be found. At the same time conspirators go into
great lengths to plant false clues and to mislead and confuse the professional police
investigators and if possible frame and jail an innocent person.
It may be an unfortunate mistake that the UN had chosen Mr Detlev Mehlis, a typical
policeman, to investigate this case. With all due respect, Mr Mehlis appears to be acting
exactly the way the planners of these murders had wanted him to act and is looking for the
robber while forgetting about the recipient of the multi-million dollar insurance
policies.
Let's look at the real facts, who had the greatest motive to murder these Lebanese
politicians at this time? Who had gained the most from these murders? A naive Syrian
intelligence officer who was annoyed by their apparent anti-Syrian declarations? Or an
internationally well-known politician who had publicly and openly declared his interest to
overthrow the legitimate Syrian, Iraqi, Iranian and North-Korean governments?
Certainly these murders had brought absolutely nothing positive to Syria, and had just
created unexpected problems and complications for the Syrian government.

A few years ago deliberate lies about non-existing weapons of mass destruction in
Iraq gave international conspirators an excuse to attack Iraq, overthrow the Iraqi
government and install a puppet regime. After the occupation of Iraq the Iranian
government was accused of plans to develop nuclear weapons, and once again, without
evidence, these unfounded accusations are being used as a ground to isolate Iran both
politically and economically and eventually, possibly to install there another puppet
regime.
It appears that in the case of Syria they are using a parallel technique to achieve
political and economic isolation and eventually to overthrow the legitimate Syrian
government. There is a real possibility that Mr Harriri was used as a sacrificial lamb to
ignite Lebanese people against Syria, to instigate anti-Syrian feelings while at the same
time giving support to political parties controlled by corrupt and puppet politicians
indebted to foreign powers.
It would be appropriate for Mr Detlev Mehlis to look not only at the apparent
culprits of these abhorrent murders, but with equal diligence to investigate anti-Syrian
propaganda and articles written by foreign secret services and, against payment, published
in Lebanese newspapers, the way it is being done in Iraq. It would be also appropriate for
Mr Mehlis to investigate foreign-financed and foreign-controlled NGO's who are fomenting
anti-Syrian hatred while preparing an orchestrated government coup in Lebanon the way they
have done in Ukraine, Georgia and in several other countries of the ex-Soviet block. Mr
Mehlis, things are not always what they seem, nor what others want you to believe they
are.
An announcement on international TV-netoworks, in December of 2005, according
to which Mr Mehlis had declared that he is absolutely sure that Syria is behind the murder
of Mr Harriri, without examining the complete evidence, throw serious doubts on his
objectivity and lack of prejudice.
